For the Galerie des Barmes, Michel Paysant also presents his vision of mountain flora and fauna in works created using the DALY (Dessiner Avec Les Yeux) technique, which he invented. These drawings are all based on the recording of the artist's eye movements using an Eye Tracker (an oculometry process that tracks eye movements, fixations and movements). \u2018Drawings where observation is pure creation and where the eyes are transformed into pencils,\u2019 explains Michel Paysant. With his brush held by his eye rather than his hand, the drawings on paper are then executed by a robot and enhanced by hand. Michel Paysant's art demonstrates an eminently creative interaction between the artist and artificial intelligence to produce new images and forms. \u2018This techno-aesthetic project develops a singularity and a philosophical will,\u2019 explains Michel Paysant: \"Man remains the trigger; the artist remains the heart and soul of the work. Technology surrounds him, the machine accompanies him, but is neither the centre nor the end goal. \" Following in the footsteps of Monet, who said, \u2018Perhaps I owe it to flowers that I became a painter\u2019, Michel Paysant has made still life the subject of his most innovative experiments. Flowers, vegetables, fruit and trophies become the pretext for the most daring and sophisticated drawings, generating timeless works. Trained at the Royal College of Art in London, Michel Paysant lives and works in Paris. To make them even more distinctive, Elzevir isolates his subjects on large white backgrounds that often take up most of the space in the work. The whites are skilfully chosen: the artist uses different papers according to the quality of their respective whites. In this way, he also manages to give surprising treatment to the subtleties and variations in the colours of snow. A former student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Etienne, Elzevir still lives and works in the region. Like the great Catalan master, Verschaere invented a visual language of his own, with figures and signs that replace the mimetic representation of reality with the expression of another possible world. In his story-paintings, Fabien, a poet of the fantastic as well as a painter of marvelous fables, tells us stories of bears and fairies, angels and devils, castles and chimeras, which transport us into the fascinating fourth dimension of his dreams, which sometimes turns out to be a distorted mirror of our own. \"Transforming the world into a legend,\" as he puts it, is the artistic project of Fabien Verschaere (born in 1975 in Vincennes, Val-de-Marne), who has established himself over the past thirty years as one of the most original and international figures on the French contemporary art scene. Exhibited and collected at a very young age in many French museums, including those of Lyon and Saint-Etienne, the Palais de Tokyo and the Grand Palais, the artist trained at the \u00c9cole nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris has also won over an audience in America and Asia where he is regularly shown (notably in Korea). He was selected to create a monumental work on the ceiling of the Olympic Village for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
